Cheek Swab Instructions
These steps will guide you through the sample collection.
Step 1
Do not eat, drink, chew or smoke 30 minutes before sampling.
Step 2
Do not touch the sponge tip.
Step 3
A parent can help hold the child during sampling.
Step 4
Gently rub the gums 10 times. Avoid teeth.
Step 5
Repeat 10 times on the other side.
Step 6
Hold the tube upright and unscrew the cap.
Step 7
Insert the sponge into the tube. Close the cap tightly.
Step 8
Shake by inverting the tube 15 times.
Step 9
Write the patient's name and birthdate on the label and attach it to the tube.
Step 10
Place the tube into the protective bag.
Step 11
Place the bag into the box.
Step 12
Place the box into the prepaid DHL return bag.
